Freedom Way

SYNOPSIS

​

Set in the bustling, often unforgiving streets of Lagos, Freedom Way is an intense social drama that follows the lives of several individuals whose fates become inextricably linked. At the centre are three young entrepreneurs who launch "Easy Go," a ride-hailing app for motorcycles designed to bring order to the city's chaotic transit. Their dreams are quickly upended by a sudden government ban on motorcycles and the systemic corruption of the police force. The narrative weaves through the perspectives of a struggling motorcyclist, a doctor battling outdated policies, and a pair of police officers forced to choose between their duty and their conscience. The film serves as a raw exploration of the "japa" (migration) phenomenon and the resilience of a generation trying to survive a broken system.
